Carolyn White has more than 25 years of Real Estate experience across a broad range of markets including North America, Europe and Asia.
She is a board member for a UK real estate holding company with MF and commercial properties in the UK, Europe and Australia. She is the US partner and advisor for the newly formed venture focusing on real estate investments in Texas.
Prior to the launch of Edison Equity Partners, she worked at GE Real Estate in various roles in risk management including underwriter, deal leader, risk manager and risk leader.
She was responsible for managing the financial risk in GE’s $35B core real estate portfolio. This entailed managing the global quarterly valuation process, monitoring markets and property performance to identify and elevate risks, and ensuring appropriate losses and reserves.
Prior to her role as Risk Leader, Carolyn spent 5+ years managing the underwriting team and due diligence process for the North America Equity Platform at GERE. She provided risk oversight on the valuation, underwriting and due diligence process for~$6.1B in acquisitions including wholly owned real estate transactions, development deals, LP interests in joint ventures and fund investments. In addition, she was a member of the credit committee where she was responsible for providing her risk perspective on new business acquisitions and asset management requests including lease proposals, capital expenses, cost overruns, etc
From 1996-2002, Carolyn worked on GERE’s Large Transaction Team where she underwrote and/or led portfolio debt and equity deals across US, Canada and Europe totaling ~$10B. This included distressed loan purchases, large loan portfolio originations and corporate acquisitions.
Prior to joining GE Capital Real Estate, Carolyn worked for The O’Connor Group, a real estate advisory firm headquartered in New York. She worked for O'Connor in Dallas, Texas and New York City as a Marketing Coordinator and Research Analyst, respectively for regional shopping centers nationwide. In 1995, Carolyn relocated to Dallas, Texas and joined GE Real Estate.
Carolyn attended the University of North Texas with a bachelors degree in Business. She lives in Southlake, Texas with her husband and 2 teenage children.
